Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber led worship for the first time in front of his church congregation at Churchome in Beverly Hills on Wednesday night.

The “Sorry” crooner performed on the church stage along with the worship band. Bieber told the church that it has taken him a long time to do so because he doesn’t want the expression of his faith to look like a show

The performance came as a surprise to church members and social media users alike.

“It was a beautiful surprise to witness @justinbieber lead worship and share his testimony at church tonight.”

Bieber was spotted at the service with his wife Hailey Baldwin. The couple tied the knot in 2018.

Bieber has turned to faith in recent years. The singer admitted to living a celibate life in the year before the couple wed.

Speaking with Vogue, the 25 year old singer talked his new take on sex and his faith:

‘I think sex can cause a lot of pain. Sometimes people have sex because they don’t feel good enough. Because they lack self-worth. Women do that, and guys do that. ‘I wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul. And I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result.’
