“This Year” singer Iledare Olajuwonlo-James better known as Jaywon has been arrested by the police for violating the curfew order issued over the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is gathered that the singer was arrested at around 11pm by the policemen attached to the Dolphin Estate Division of the Lagos State Police Command.

He is said to have been driving at the time of his arrest and was not also wearing a facemask.

He was reportedly then taken to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, where he was charged before a mobile court after his statement had been taken.

He pled guilty during court proceedings on Tuesday and was ordered to pay a fine of N10,000 as well as carry out 30 minutes of community service.

Lagos State Public Relations Officer Bala Elkan confined the entertainer’s arrest saying Jaywon was among the 179 persons arrested for violating the curfew and refusing to use face masks in the state.

This is coming days after the federal government eased the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja to reduce the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.

Last month, actress Funke Akindele alongside her husband JJC Skillz was arrested for hosting a house party in their home in Lagos state.

The party was a violation of the social distancing and lockdown order put in place by the government to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Akindele and JJC Skillz were fined N100,000 each and also sentenced to 14 days of community service.
