Idris Elba has had a lot of publicity lately. He was named the sexiest man Alive by People Magazine, his daughter was recently named the Golden Globes Ambassador and he is soon set to release a new season of his BBC series Luther.

He is indeed in the Limelights hence his views were sought on the ‘Me Too Movement’. And his answer will gladden some hearts.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, he was asked how difficult it was being a man in Hollywood with the ‘Me Too Movement’ and the consequence of sexual misconduct. His response was, “It’s only difficult if you’re a man with something to hide.”

His response went viral and elicited applause from some of the female folk in Hollywood like Shonda Rhimes.

This is not the first time Elba will give support for the ‘Me Too Movement.’ During the promotion of the film Molly’s Game, he had said, “we’re seeing women stand up and have a liberation movement of speaking up against some of the atrocities that have happened.”

Some of his male counterparts like Matt Damon and Henry Cavill who have been posed the same questions have given answers that were not too pleasing which led to an apology from them for their seeming insensitive response.

The ‘Me Too Movement’ was made popular by Tarana Burke on social media. The movement speaks against sexual harassment and sexual assault and encourages victims to speak up about it or tweet about it. It gained wide usage after Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexual assault.

The movement gained more support after comments from famous Hollywood stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lawrence and Uma Thurman.
