If there were a way to describe the week, it would be “a week filled with lots of jaws-dropping discoveries.” Yet for some, their deeply buried fears were once again brought to the fore.

Here is a rundown of the week:

Light in the darkness

Nigerian music whiz, Cobhams Asuquo’s wife, Ojuola, opened up in an interview about how her son’s blindness. She said she discovered her son was blind after four months. According to her, she went to the hospital for check-ups and was told her son “is not following”. This made her confused as her doctor outside the country told her something different. She admitted that she found the situation quite unbelievable because “it feels like you are not getting answers”. However, the experience made her seek for answers and grow spiritually.

Winds of death

Sad new from the skies. A 24-year-old woman died and another (20) was seriously hurt when they were flung from a chair swing ride at an annual funfair in central France, emergency services said. The pair had been over 10 metres (about 33 feet) up in the air, in one of several “flying” pods when their capsule was tossed to the ground on Monday night. Police said four people, owners and operators of two rides — the swing carousel and a neighbouring attraction at the Firminy fair — have been taken into custody.

Double wahala

Ex-BbNaija housemate Ekemini Aniefiok Ekerette better known as Kemen has become the subject of social media outcry following his role in a comedy skit. In the skit, Kemen, who is draped in gym wear, inappropriately touches a woman as he walked past her and her male counterpart. It should be recalled that Kemen was disqualified from the BbNaija reality show in 2017 after he was found guilty of touching then co-housemate, Tboss inappropriately without her consent. Again, this did not go down well with the public. Guess the saying, “once bitten, twice shy” doesn’t apply to him (or not).

The greatest to ever do it

Adele is no longer ‘rolling in the deep’’ as her album “21” has been named the biggest album of the 21st century. The chart-topping second album contains some of the 31-year-old’s greatest hits, including Rolling In The Deep, Someone Like You and Set Fire To The Rain. The 2011 work, which earned Adele a record-tying six Grammy’s plus two Brits, saw the most physical sales, digital downloads and streams of any record in the UK since the turn of the century. Quick, did we forget to mention, she is in a relationship with Nigerian-British rapper Skepta?

New life(style)

Multiple Grammy award-winning rapper, Kanye West has proclaimed that he has converted to Christianity and will be releasing an album titled ‘Jesus Is King’. In a recent development, he and his wife, Kim Kardashian, appear to be having clashes because it affects him“ when pictures are too sexy.” In return, Kardashian had this to say, “You built me up to be, like, this sexy person and confident and all this stuff. And just because you’re on a journey, and you’re on your transformation doesn’t mean that I’m in the same spot with you.”
