Now we know why Daniel chose vegetables and fruits and not the choice food of the king of Babylon.

Halleluyah Diet is founded on the biblical creation story in Gen 1:29. This diet consists of freshly made carrot juice, vegetable juice, barley grass powder and an herbal colon cleanser.

Although, it is not easy to change one’s diet to raw vegetables, it has become the favourite of many who want to live a healthy lifestyle. The idea of the this vegan diet is that when it is raw, its nutrients are still intact and unprocessed.

There are three major reasons why people adopt this diet: have a healthy lifestyle, improve one’s health and restore one’s health.

This vegan diet consists of “85% raw and 15% cooked plant-based food”. As a result, care should be paid to the type of meals you add to your diet. Meals to be added to your diet includes vegetables(raw and steamed), juiced vegetables (freshly made carrots), sweet potatoes, whole grains, seasonings (garlic), whole-grain pasta, fruits, natural oils (avocado, olive, grapeseed, coconut, flax seed), diary substitutes (almond milk, coconut milk *except soy*) and beans.

Dairy, eggs, certain seeds, refined (table) salt, certain seasoning, trans fat, all kinds of meat, certain nuts, fish, processed or canned food are a no-no.

Going on this diet reduces your risk of contacting certain diseases, aids in weight loss, boosts your immune system, boosts cells and maintain healthy blood sugar levels.

According to Rev George Malkmus, the author who popularised the diet with his book, The Halleluyah Diet, it can cure cancer and he has himself to prove it. Having being diagnosed of cancer 35 years ago, he decided to adopt the more aggressive “recovery method” of the diet and the tumour disappeared.

It is important to take your diet with supplements containing vitamin , D, B12 and calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin D, vitamin B12, omega-3 fatty acids, and calcium and exercise for at least 20 minutes.

More so, people over 60 years with low weight are not advised to go on the diet.

It may seem like a difficult radical change in diet, but its results are tremendous.
