“Get Out” and “Black-ish” Win Big At NAACP Image Awards

The 49th annual Image Awards ceremony was held was on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

The award which honours people of colour in entertainment and literature as well as individuals who promote social justice through creative endeavours named the director of A Wrinkle In Time, Ava DuVernay, the Entertainer of the Year.

Get Out bagged several awards including Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for star Daniel Kaluuya, and writing and directing awards for Jordan Peele. Black-ish also racked five awards including Outstanding Comedy Series.
