Nok By Alara is a sigh of relief, a step back from the conventional restaurants you are used to. The first thing you’d notice once you get into the building is the owner’s unique taste and appreciation of traditional décor. This is evident in the selective theme of woven chairs, the Ankara umbrellas, mats and the African stools. It is everything an African art appreciator would love to see.

The door to the restaurant could double as a door to a secret building. If not, how else would you explain the sealed-up effect it gives? The interior space is slightly different from the outside. There are hints that of African influence on the space but with a hint of exclusive western civilisation. The lights are hidden in woven wooden chandeliers while each table has a set of cutleries, a small flower vase on the side. Once, you are here, you get the idea that you are in an exclusive environment and not to mention the pleasant staff. Nok By Alara located at No. 12A Akin Olugbade, V.I really came ready.

Their meals complement the environment which Nok tries to foster. You can’t help but notice the presentation of African meals with a western twist, from the suya steak to the chocolate latte to the Tigernut ice cream options. In the spirit of putting a twist on everyday events, Nok by Alara will be dishing out their signature and new treats in the New Year under the party tagged New Years At Nok, a two-part event featuring dinner and a party.

The dinner which will be hosted in the space inside will come with a three-course meal which will be unveiled at the event. The party which will start by 11 pm, will be hosted at the great outdoors featuring DJ’s Joine and Bristar to usher us into the New Year with good music and there will be fireworks at midnight our brighten your new year.

As a little teaser, here are pictures of what to expect at the New Year party.

Tickets for the party are sold for N5,000. Seeing as dining here is strictly by reservation, you can do so by sending a mail to reservations@nokbyalara.com or call 09085614815.
