Don’t we all go nuts for peanuts, almonds and walnuts? Anyways for the good reasons I guess. Not only do they taste good, they’re healthy for us. They have heart-healthy fats, high dose of fibre, and can help tide us over between meals. Once those nuts are turned into a creamy spread, it’s easy to overdo it.

Check out this fresh apple slices with Almond butter puree recipe to make it for your kids this weekend or for the entire family. It can serve as a quick breakfast gulp or a snack time idea.

Ingredients

2 Gala, Pink Lady, or Fuji Apple, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes

2 Tsp Almond Butter

1 Tbsp Water

Preparation

Place apple in a steamer pot over boiling water and steam for 5 minutes.

Place the apples, almond butter, and water in a platter and puree until smooth, then Serve!
