We all knew that X Men Apocalypse was going to break bank but not in the way it did. X-Men topped the North American box office in its debut over the four-day Memorial holiday weekend, raking in nearly $80 million according to industry figures on Tuesday.
Alice Through the Looking Glass opened in the number two spot, selling $33.5 million in tickets, according to industry tracker Exhibitor Relations. The Angry Birds Movie was third, earning $24.6 million between Friday and MondayCaptain America: Civil War was fourth with $20 million while the comedy sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising grossed $11.4 million for fifth place.
The top 10 films of the weekend include;
“The Jungle Book” ($9.5 million)
“The Nice Guys” ($8.3 million)
“Money Monster” ($5.6 million)
“Love and Friendship” ($3.1 million)
“Zootopia” ($1.1 million)
