Elizabeth and family marked her official 90th birthday with a parade known as Trooping the Colour and also making an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

The splendid parade featured more than 1,500 soldiers and officers, also included a fly-by of historic World War II aircraft and modern fighter planes, ABC reports.

Born in London to the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on April 21, 1926, Elizabeth celebrates two special days, and this weekend sees the second.

It’s a measure that was introduced 250 years ago, according to Mirror.
