The maiden event of the A New Thing Initiative themed ‘Save the Youth, Save the Future‘ was held on Friday the 11th of December 2015,between the hours of 9:30-11:30 at Ladela Secondary School, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The two hour program which had the S.S.S.1 to S.S.S.3 students in attendance, featured talks from Mr Clement Idowu, Assistant Commandant A/L of the N.D.L.E.A  F.C.T Command, and Mr Eghosaere Gold-Idehen, an individual who overcame drug usage. There was also a short comedy sketch from Abuja based comedian  Charly-Mon-Guy.

During the program 72 students voluntarily  took a vow to abstain from Drugs and other illicit substance usage.

A New Thing  is a non governmental and non profit-making social action group, aimed at bringing youth together based on a common interest, helping them invest their often violent energy towards self improvement,social change and unity. A.N.T is visiting 150 schools across Nigeria to speak to senior secondary students on the dangers of Drug abuse and the importance of abstinence.
