A mention of the Disc Jockey pioneers in Nigeria and the name Oluwaforijimi Adewale Amu popularly known as DJ Jimmy Jatt comes to mind. Indeed, the iconic DJ, who has been in the DJ business for more than 25 years and still counting, is an epitome of living your passion while being societally successful at it.

He was one of the fortunate ones whose desire to venture into the music industry was not met by parental obstacles despite knowing he had an interest in the law profession. However, this was not the case with his extended family and neighbours:

“People were hostile and would not want their sons to be associated with me because I chose to be a DJ,” he tells Guardian Life.
