Every restaurant promises a good meal but everyone knows that it is one thing to make a promise, it is another to fulfil that promise. But what do you say when you are in a place where all your taste buds leap in joy?

People say first impressions matter and it is obvious that Z Kitchen takes this seriously. As soon as one enters, they are welcomed with the delicate fresh flowers on each table. After a little chat with a longtime customer over the soul music playing in the background, I was told that the flowers are changed weekly to maintain its freshness.

Z Kitchen is set such that I can have a conversation with no noise interference from the customers behind me; perfect for any date.

While waiting for my order, several waiters checked up on me to ensure that I was relaxed (well, thank you!). A man whom I presume to be the manager comes over to inform me that their dishes are a mix of Lebanese, Italian, Spanish and Nigerian, each prepared specially with Z Kitchen’s special ingredient. He also mentions Z Kitchen provides a full-course meal plan: starters, the main dish and dessert and goes ahead to recommend it.

Z Kitchen. Korean beef

An adventurous eater, this only meant one thing. my starters dishes included Gamba Al Ajillo, sizzling shrimps in garlic, dried chilli pepper and olive oil, the Creme Fraiche Chicken Wings, the shape of chicken lollipops, are a delight to the eyes. Their Korean beef tasted like a mix of delicious goodness.

Before my main course meal arrived, I decided to take a tour of the place. I found, much to my delight, that there are different sections of the place, a wine lounge, bar and an outdoor space for smokers, there was a space for everyone.

Main Course Meal

The 8- hour braised short ribs with mashed potatoes was the first to arrive. The short ribs was spiced good enough that my friend whom I had started sharing my dishes with, had a mouthful. Just when I thought that the Korean Beef was my favourite, the Braised Short Rib Lasagna- a three-cheese mix’ took all the praises.

It is no wonder that my new friend also placed an order. At this point, Zeina (who owns the place with her husband Ziad) walked up to me to ensure that we were having a good time. She did the same to other customers.

For the Dessert:

I had the Profiteroles, crunchy choux pastry with Vanilla Ice cream and hot chocolate sauce.

By the time I had all these dishes, my taste buds were smacking in a loud ovation. Interestingly, I had eaten a lot, was not bloated and was certain my health was assured.

If I will go here again, you bet!
