The inspiring journey started to celebrate the International Women’s Day, whose campaign, Pledge for Parity, has gathered millions of signatories around the world and to bring, once more, to national and international consciousness, the dire and abject circumstances in which this great region, sadly, continues to wallow.” According to Mrs Ibim Semenitari  the MD/CEO NDDC in her speech she delivered at the season finale in Calabar.

She quoted the Lebanese philosopher and author, Charles Malik, who said: “The fastest way to change society is to mobilize the women of the world.” She moves on to say ” And we do want to play our role, both as thespians on stage and as actors in the boardrooms and corridors of power and influence, in classrooms and laboratories of learning and knowledge, as well as in the street corners and conscience of the world.”

The play Little Drops is dripped in brilliant metaphors and insinuates a solution for gender inequities as well as development in the Niger Delta.  Told from the perspective of four women, caught in the crossfire of the armed conflict in the region, the tragedy that the Niger Delta faces is better understood. The message of a sustainable development through the Niger Delta Regional Developmental Masterplan to create a region that is economically prosperous, socially stable, politically peaceful and ecologically regenerative has been carried from Abuja via this stage play to Port Harcourt, Benin and Calabar.
