Nigerians have not been this excited about major happenings in such a long time. Away from the political brouhaha, we found a reason to look at the positives, which eventually made us the happiest people in the world for a moment. These are the stories that made our week.

It did not matter that the unveiling of the Super Eagles’ new jersey was done in London; the jersey sparked an interest in the international football scene and was rated “number 1 best jersey” in The Mirror. Due to the delay in its market launch, some Nigerians have sent the pictures to their ABA brothers. The sports brand, Nike, also unveiled the “Wizkid FC” jersey, making it a double win for Nigeria.

Quincy Jones seems to be the all-knowing one. In a recent interview, the producer behind Thriller, Off The Wall and Bad described Michael Jackson as “greedy” and a thief. Although he confirmed Jackson’s disturbing father and son relationship, he used a foul word to describe his disease. And who did Jones rate as the “worst musicians in the world”? The Beatles.

Black Panther has officially changed the game. Black Panther is not just a film, it is a movement of the black race, by the blacks and for everyone. At the African and black-themed premiere in Los Angeles and London respectively, the cast and crew proved that black is the new cool.

With just a few tracks and one video released, the Black Panther has generated so much attention and applause for the album that was released on February 9. The videos of the two released tracks have been appraised as a cultural and aesthetic representation of the black race.

M.I Is Back

M.I Abaga

M.I Abaga dropped a surprise playlist for fans called Rendevzous. Interestingly, the 15-track collection features a guest artist on each on the songs, including AKA, Nonso Amadi, Terry Apala, Yung L and Ajebutter 22. Let’s hope we don’t wait much longer than May (the intended release month for the album).
