American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys is set to reprise her role as the host of the Grammy Awards show in 2020.

Keys hosted the annual music awards show for the first time earlier this year, now she is billed to host it again in the coming year.

Reacting to the announcement in a statement, Keys said:

“At first, I did think last year was a one-time thing, but when the opportunity came back around, there was no question about returning as host.

“Last year was such a powerful experience for me. Not only did I feel the love in the room, but I felt it from around the world and it confirmed the healing and unifying power of music.”

Grammys president and CEO Deborah Dugan in a statement said that:

“From Best New Artist recipient to Grammy Award host, Alicia Keys has been a beacon of artistry within the music community for more than two decades. Last year was a testament to her compelling creativity and we are thrilled that she will return to the Grammy stage as our host.”

Keys whose real name is Alicia Augello Cook Dean started composing music by age 12 and was signed at 15 years old by Columbia Records. She later signed with Arista Records and released her debut album, Songs in A Minor, with J Records in 2001.

Keys has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, making her one of the best selling artist in the world.

The 38-year-old Keys has earned numerous awards including 15 competitive Grammy Awards,17 NAACP Image Awards, 9 Billboard Music Awards and 7 BET Awards.

The Grammy 2020 is scheduled for 26 January in Los Angeles and the nominations will be announced on 20 November.
