Burna Boy and AKA had an online back and forth on social media as the two had varying opinions o the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
Their disagreement was one of 2019’s major celebrity rifts with AKA demanding an apology from Burna Boy as he asked the latter to prove that he is indeed the African Giant:
However, his 2020 tweet, AKA has come forward to say he does not hate Burna Boy.
In his reaction to Burna Boy’s loss, AKA said Burna Boy is still a champion as his nomination is still as good as a win. He reiterated his earlier statement that Burna Boy’s Grammy nomination is a huge achievement.
He went on to clarify that all he did was stand up for his country and people need to focus on the positive as it is time to move past that narrative.
He tweeted:
“What you should have done is focus on the positive instead of thinking about me and my country. In any case, Burna is still a champion. We still consider him a winner.”
