The dynamic appearance of various mountains is a sight to behold, from that of Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world and mount Andes the longest mountain in the world.

Mountains worthy of admiration are situated in various countries across the world. Most possess names that are a reflection of their unique appearances. Nevertheless, if you do decide to go hiking, sightseeing or rock climbing, here are countries with some of the world’s most beautiful mountains you just might want to consider.

Peru- Mount Vinicunca

One of the topmost tourist attractions in the state of Peru is mount Vinicunca. It is often called the montage of happy colours because it possesses unusual hue lines of different colours which is a result of mineral deposits. It is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world and by far, the most colourful. It is famously referred to as the” Rainbow mountain”. The mountain’s hike route also offers side attractions. You are open to seeing wildlife, the hot springs, and also a close view of the sandstone mountain.

Italy- The Dolomites mountain

The Dolomites are a mountain range located in northeastern Italy. They form a part of the Southern Limestone Alps and extend from the River Adige in the west to the Piave Valley in the east. The Dolomites mountain is surrounded by lush greens. The trails take about a week to walk and they are served by numerous huts. The Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park and many other regional parks are located within the Dolomites. Renowned to be one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, in August 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO world heritage site. The Dolomites is also known as the “pale mountains “. The Dolomites are part of historical stories. During the first world war, the front line between the Italian and Astron-Hungarian forces ran through the Dolomites, where both parties used mines extensively.

People visit the Dolomites to climb the Vie ferrate, the protected paths through the minefields that were created during the war. Hiking in Italy is sure going to be an experience, exploring the gem of the Southern Limestone Alps.

Iceland- Kirkjufell mountain

Kirkjufell is about 463m high. It got listed as one of the world’s most beautiful mountains and gained much recognition after being featured in the 6th and 7th season of the famous HBO original series “Games of Thrones”. It is said to be the most photographed mountain in the country. It is a small mountain, but its beauty is magnificent. In summer, its floors are covered in lush greenery and in winter, with pure white snow and ice. The well known Iceland spectacular waterfall, Kirkjufellsfoss, is also located next to the Kirkjufell mountain.

South Africa- Table mountain

The Table mountain adopted its name from the shape it possesses. The surface of the mountain’s top is flat rather than pointy like most mountains. Amongst the list of the mountains of the world, Table mountain is the smallest at a height of 3,600 ft. It is a popular landmark and serves as a beautiful backdrop of the Cape Town city of South Africa. The mountain forms part of the Table Mountain National Park. The flat top of the mountain is often covered by orographic clouds, formed when the wind is directed up the mountains into the air. The moisture condenses to form the clouds, which they refer to as the table cloth. Legend has it that the clouds are a smoking contest between the devil and a local pirate called Van Hunks. One can get to the top of the mountain by either hiking or using a cable car ride.

Japan- Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji stands as Japan’s no. 1 tourist attraction. It is located on the island of Honshu, standing tall as the highest mountain in Japan. It is nearly 12, 400 ft tall with Volcanic properties. It is one of the enormous Volcanic mountains in the world, sitting over a junction of three tectonic plates. It has a view of the sea, and the south-west of Tokyo can be seen from the top when the atmosphere is clear. The mountain is usually used as a cultural icon of Japan, is commonly reflected in many artworks that represent Japan. The tranquillity and beauty of the view from the mountain depict are said to have been an inspiration to many artists and poets.
