The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries is set to hold its biennial international programme, themed: “… And The Enemies Submitted.” The event will begin on Saturday, June 16 and ends on Sunday, June 17. The General Overseer, Pastor Lazarus Muoka spoke on its importance, what it means to the nation and attendees. Chris Irekamba reports.

What is the programme all about?
The programme, titled: “…And The Enemies Submitted,” usually holds once in two years at our headquarters church, 10, Odofin Park Estate, along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, by Ijesha Bus Stop, Lagos, at 8am daily. It is meant to address various issues confronting our nation, as well as the participants. Last two years ago, when we had this programme, we knew how God handled the nation’s affairs. What we are experiencing in Nigeria today is not peculiar. It is a global issue and God allows them to happen so that people will draw closer to Him. And so, our programme is meant to address these principalities and powers that people are trying to handle humanly are addressed spiritually. The Bible says, ‘we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, against spiritual wickedness in high places.’ While we are still here, we have authority from God to bring these enemies under our feet. Another Bible reference in Luke 10:19, says, “Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the enemy’s power; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” That verse also says ‘whatsoever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven…’ according to Matthew 18:18. So, the church has authority at any time to work against the enemy of man, enemy of humanity that causes the killings, diseases, as well as problems here and there. So, as we pray, bind and decree at the programme, God Almighty will bring these enemies under our feet.

The nation and the people will continue to enjoy until the rapture takes place. As a church, God has given us authority to make sure that we stand against these enemies. If we don’t do anything, the problem will escalate beyond what we’re seeing today. So, we need to pray and bring these enemies to submission. At the end of the programme, participants and the nation will experience relief.

You mentioned enemies repeatedly. Who are Nigeria’s enemies?
The Bible says in 1Peter 5:8, ‘be sober, be vigilant because your adversary, the enemy, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour’ and his works according to John 10:10 is to kill, to steal and to destroy. So, the enemy of Nigeria is the devil. The enemy of man is the devil. He has agents, who are human beings. But the point is: whether it is the devil or human beings or demons, they will surely submit at this programme.

What impacts have you recorded in the past through the programme?
First, this programme is aimed at saving souls and that is what God is going to do again in the lives of unbelievers. If they are under the devil’s spell, they cannot be saved. For example, during the first programme, people testified of how they became saved simply because enemies in their lives submitted to God’s will. It is the power of prayer that is keeping this nation.

Secondly, we also witnessed how God delivered people with various ailments, such as HIV, cancer, kidney problems, while the deaf and dumb received healing. God also provided jobs for the jobless; He blessed His people financially, as well as revived businesses and gave children to the barren. There were so many testimonies and by the special grace of God, He will do the same thing on June 16 and 17.

Who are those expected to grace the event?
The invitation is open to everybody. It is an international programme and so, we are expecting Nigerians and people from other African countries. In fact, people outside the country have indicated intention to come. So, it is not for Chosen members alone. The problem that people are going through is not limited to Chosen members; it is affecting all humanity. And those who cannot make it to the programme will listen to us on the Internet. The assurance we have is that many people will be liberated through this programme.

Recently, the church took the gospel to Kwara and Kano States. Do you have plans to reach other parts of the North?
The commandment we received from God was to evangelise the whole world. It is not just Nigeria or those in the North. It has taken us to America, Canada, Australia, and almost all countries of the world. We are just obeying the commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who said we should go to the world and preach the gospel to every creature. In 2012, God instructed me to go the North and preach to them. So, I believe my going to the North is not limited to Abuja, Benue, Kano, Kaduna and Kwara because we’ve been to all these places.

Again, we are not the first church to be in Kano; other churches have also been there. We were there by the leading of God Almighty and any other place He asks us to go, we will gladly obey Him, even if it is Sambisa Forest. He Who asks us to go will also give us victory. Our experience in Kano was a wonderful one; even the governor was so happy and he really appreciated it. Since we held the event, testimonies have not stopped coming.

Considering how Christians are being killed, do they need to wait until the enemy submits?
What is happening in Nigeria is affecting Christians and non-Christians. But then, we are praying that God will take care of the problem in Nigeria and not just in Nigeria but the whole world. This is the End Time and our prayers, no doubt, have been affecting every facet of human life. You might think we have seen the worst, but what we have seen today shows that God is the One fighting all our battles, withholding Satan from going beyond his boundary. Otherwise, it would have escalated beyond what we are seeing, if not His intervention and this kind of programme.
Nigerians are preparing for 2019 elections. Do you see this programme affecting forthcoming elections?

God knows why He allows this programme to take place now. We don’t know that it will occur before or during election period. His ways are not the ways of man. We believe He has something to do. We believe that as we pray, God will address the problems in the forthcoming election. This event is going to affect every area, and not just the election.

What is your message to Nigerians?
My message to Nigerians and all those who will be listening to me through the Internet is that they should understand there is no more time. Jesus Christ’s coming is at hand. A lot of things are happening and it is very clear to everybody, not just here in Nigeria, but all over the world. What matters now is that people should know their Creator, seek His Face, repent and turn away from evil and surrender to Jesus Christ and be ready to make heaven at last.

For believers in Christ, I urge them to pray. All believers should pray for Nigeria, as well as the entire world. We should also increase our efforts in evangelism and ensure that souls are saved.
