WIMBIZ to equip women with winning strategies at 18th annual conference

Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), a non-profit organisation that has over the years impacted thousands of women, is set to strengthen and empower them across the board again.

At a press briefing to herald its 18th annual conference that will hold between November 7th and 8th at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, tagged: “Shaping the future: Strategizing to Win,” the event promises to equip women with winning strategies.

Speaking at the briefing, Chairperson WIMBIZ Executive Council, Olubunmi Aboderin Talabi hinted that the conference would feature practical sessions designed to equip women with winning strategies and hands-on knowledge to take on new challenging roles, explore emerging business opportunities and sustain a successful career in today’s fast-paced world.

“Relevant topics that speak to the times and existing situation will be discussed. Delegates will learn how to develop winning strategies to secure their seat at the table, discover how to collaborate to win, understand consumer behaviour, reach those who are not on the Internet, overcome trauma and silence shame, rise above the imposter syndrome, and much more.”

She hinted that the conference would feature “six deep dives and seven plenary sessions,” adding that “it would be wrapped up with an engaging debate session closely trailed by our signature after-party.”

Talabi also noted that preceding the conference on Thursday, which is the first day November 7, is the networking breakfast. “Participants at this breakfast will learn to make stellar one-minute elevator pitch, and then be given an opportunity to practice it while meeting at least 10 new people in a structured speed networking session.

“It is a business networking event offering delegates a unique opportunity to meet and band connect with influential individuals from diverse sectors in a bespoke setting.”

She informed that a former Chief Judge, Federal High Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Rose Ukeje, OFR would chair the conference and 50 other speakers, would be in attendance.

“We are pleased that the keynote address will be presented by Co-Founder and Trustee African Leadership Academy Fed Swaniker,” she said.
