Women in Management Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), has congratulated every female candidate at all levels that participated in the just concluded 2019 general elections.

A recent statement from the organization released to The Guardian read: “The Board of Trustees and Executive Council of WIMBIZ commend their passion and commitment towards national growth and development, which has propelled them to serve the nation through participation in the electoral process of Nigeria.

“WIMBIZ congratulates all who were successful at the elections and all who participated from the expression of interest, nomination, all the way to the election victory. The 2019 election is considered remarkable owing to the increase in participation and victory of women across various levels.

“Given the breakdown of women who were declared elected by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), they include the following: Senate (7), House of Representatives (11), State House of Assembly (31) and Deputy Governors (4).”

“This new wave of emerging female politicians will build trust amongst the electorates that women can lead effectively and impactfully. It will also give confidence that women can run, vote and get involved,” the statement added.
