Thrive Women Conference urges women to be Economic and Socio-Political Powerhouse

Thrive Women Solutions (TWS) is a social enterprise dedicated to helping women empower themselves and others to live financially independent and emotionally healthy lives recently had its annual inaugural conference themed: “The Nigerian Woman as an Economic and Socio-Political Powerhouse”.

The 2018 edition of the conference, took place on Thursday 15th November at The Civic Centre, Lagos. It had an impressive line-up of speakers, distinguished individuals both men and women who have contributed immensely to the society; Keynote speaker – Mrs Funmi Oyetunji, Mrs Mavi Isibor, Executive Vice Chairman Poise Nigeria, Mrs Amina Oyagbola, Founder WISCAR, Mrs Kofo Akinkugbe, MD/CEO SecureID Group, Dr. Abiola Akiode-Afolabi, Chairperson, Transition Monitoring Group, Mr Onimisi Adaba, Founder Mens Room, Ms Ronke Onadeko, MD DeltR Energy amongst others.

While delivering her welcome address, Convener, Thrive Women Conference, Mrs Rosemary Onyebigwa said Thrive Women Solutions was birthed out of a strong desire to help women discover and love themselves throughout the different seasonal cycles of their lives by supporting their economic growth and emotional wellbeing, hence living more fulfilling lives for themselves, families and their communities.

The conference was divided into panel sessions, and it featured speakers who discussed a series of topics on building on the Nigerian Woman as an Economic and Socio-Political Powerhouse. The topics ranged from Finance and Career, Entrepreneurship, Self-Discovery, and Wellbeing to Family Marriage and Parenting.

Participants present at the conference also enjoyed mentorship opportunities targeted at enlightening and empowering female entrepreneurs, would be entrepreneurs and career women. The panel topics were selected based on current issues affecting Nigerian women and the sessions were no doubt engaging, interactive and equally impactful.

Among the event sponsors was Dreamworld Africana, an amusement and themed park for family fun and large events, which gave out vouchers to women who participated in the TWS conference.
