Miss Nigeria 2016: Celebrities step out in style as Obiadi emerges winner

The 40th edition of Miss Nigeria 2016 has come and gone with Miss Anambra, Chioma Obiadi, beating other contestants to emerge the winner of the prestigious crown.

The 40th edition of Miss Nigeria 2016 has come and gone with Miss Anambra, Chioma Obiadi, beating other contestants to emerge the winner of the prestigious crown. Blessing Obila from Ebonyi took home first runner up, while Shade representing Kwara State was the second runner up.

Chioma won a brand new Hyundai Grand Accent from Studio 24, an all-expense paid trip courtesy Air France, one year free accommodation, complete style and beauty make over and three million Naira.

The new queen will represent the country at the Miss Intercontinental pageant next year as she works on the Green-Girl project. The Green- Girl project is a community development initiative aimed at empowering young women to become facilitators of sustainable practices towards ensuring a clean and peaceful environment.

Held at the Eko Convention Centre, the event witnessed a plethora of famous faces who brought their star power to the event. From the hosts of the night, comedian AY Makun and Kemi Lala Akindoju, there were famous faces everywhere. The star-studded event included a fashion show courtesy Studio 24 official photographers of Miss Nigeria 2016, stellar performances by Tekno, Ebisan, the valedictory speech of the outgoing queen Leesi Pamela Peter-Vigboro and a host of other entertaining acts.

Other celebrities present included star actress Rita Dominic, Peter Okoye, Bovi, Kunle Afolayan, Denrele, Mo Abudu, Ezinne Akudo, Oge Okoye and Ibinabo Fiberesinma.
