Inspired Women of Worth (IWOW), in partnership with FUZION Fitness Centre, is organising a “Safari Zumbathon” in support of Autism, Breast Cancer and Depression awareness (ABCD). IWOW, in its sixth year, continues to support awareness about these campaigns through its Zumbathon and this year, we have partnered with FUZION Fitness, to promote a healthy lifestyle through dance.

The Safari Zumbathon scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 1, at the Grange School, Harold Shodipo Crescent, GRA, Ikeja from 7am to 11am depicts life and energy, as it focuses on giving hope and saving lives. With this project, we increase awareness, dispel myths about breast cancer and de-stigmatise autism, while creating hope for breast cancer victims and parents with children living with Autism.

This year, we will start a conversation and lift the veil on depression and mental wellness issues, because we realise many people do not understand what depression really is and don’t know how to deal with it. Depression is a red flag that requires professional attention and needs to be addressed.

Over 500 people are expected to be at the venue and participants can look forward to energetic dance moves from Nigeria’s finest fitness instructors. Registration is now open at www.i-wow.org/zumbathon

Stalls are also available for booking. Mobile testing centres, resource materials and other powerful speakers will be on ground to further educate participants on the myths surrounding their causes. Survivors and family members will also share real life stories.

All proceeds from this event will go to organisations that support Autism, Breast Cancer and Depression.

The Inspired Women of Worth Network is a network of women, charged with a vision to encourage, inspire and actively promote strong women, through finding our place and purpose in life; passionately living our lives to the fullest; empowering ourselves and one another, thereby impacting our society; one woman, one family at a time.

Mgrs. Duo Maryanne Okonjo, C.E.O of Fine and Country International and about 25 women from more than six countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Canada, USA, CAMEROON and the U.K, launched it in Johannesburg in October 2010.

Since our launch, we have funded and actively driven multiple projects, including wheelchair access in public spaces. We have hosted annual autism awareness seminars, as well as created an Autism Awareness Directory to support caregivers and families of children on the spectrum from June 2011 till date. We have also supported other non-iWOW charitable causes.

This event is proudly sponsored by Fine & Country International West Africa,Valmont Water, Vitamin Water, Giant Beverages, Sebeccly Cancer Care, She Writes Woman, Bella Naija, Guardian Woman, Genevieve Magazine, Zesty Juices, Lasena Water, Motherhood in Style Magazine, Spice TV and HIIT Squad.
