AWP Network to host Get Connected Business Series

Discussion topics such as Tech Dialogues: What It Means To Be A Woman In Tech, will explore the challenges and progress made in the STEM fields with regards to African women and girls.

In an action-packed three-day event, The African Women Power (AWP) Network will host the “Get Connected Business Series,” during the last week in April. The forum is created with the intention to provide insights and information needed to help entrepreneurs and employees grow and get to the next level.

Discussion topics such as Tech Dialogues: What It Means To Be A Woman In Tech, will explore the challenges and progress made in the STEM fields with regards to African women and girls. The panel discussion will be led by Mary Olushoga, Founder of the AWP Network. On the panel are the following experts: Saudat Salami, Founder, EasyshopEasycook; Tolulope Adeyemo, Program Director, The WAAW Foundation; Maya Horgan Famodu, founder, Ingressive.co; Nkemdilim Begho, founder, FutureSoftware Resources and Abisoye Ajayi, founder, Pearls Africa

Other topics include: Bid To Win: Learn How to Find and Successfully Bid for Procurement Opportunities with Top Companies in Nigeria, which will focus solely on procurement opportunities available in the private sector. This panel discussion will be led by Reginald Bassey, former Chief of Staff at the Office of Rep. Robinson Uwak of the Oron Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State. On the panel are Shade Ladipo, Executive Director, WeConnect International and Femi Longe, Founder, Tender.ng.

Sexual Harassment and Assault in the Workplace, Learn How To Protect Yourself, will explore resources, if any, available for women and girls in the event that they experience sexual harassment and assault in the workplace. On the discussion panel are Itoro Eze-Anaba, Founder, Mirabel Centre; Jolaoluwa Ayeye, Representative, Stand To End Rape Initiative; Iheoma Obibi, Ashoka Fellow, feminist and founder, Intimate Pleasures and Blessing Timidi Digha-Omolere, Women Deliver Young Leader, Feminist and girl child/Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights Advocate.
