THE Association of African Traditional Religions of Nigeria (AATREN) on Sunday offered prays and sacrifices to God to put a stop to frequent occurrence of fire outbreaks in Lagos State.

The ceremonies, which held at Ilasan, was led by AATREN Pesident, Chief Ifasegun Elegushi, the Opemoluwa of Ikate Elegushiland. Many priests performed the ceremonies, which involved singing and slaughtering of goats, rams and pigs.

Several road junctions in Ilasan, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government of Lagos State were dotted with portions of the propitiation offerings.

In his prayer, Chief Elegushi entreated God to grant Lagos State peace, harmony and prosperity this year and beyond.

Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode was represented by Alhaji Hassan Mondiu, Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Epe Division.

Ambode prayed God to grant the state and the country peace and tranquility.

Dignitaries present at the occasion included the AATREN vice president, Chief Mrs. Foluso Adeogun Oga, who is also the Yeye Osun of Lagos Mainland and Chief Lekan Ajirotutu, the Otunba Gbasaniyi of Mushinland, Lagos
