The intent of the yearly Total School Support Seminar and Exhibition (TOSSE) is to consciously and systematically contribute to the development of human resources in the Nigerian education sector, Principal Consultant, Edumark, an education-consulting firm, Mrs Yinka Ogunde, has said

Addressing reporters on the activities that would feature in this year’s conference, which is the 9th in the series, Ogunde said the imperative role of teachers in human and national development was the zeal and motivation behind the yearly project.

She said there would be 18 free seminars to cover a wide range of academic, social, emotional topics for educators to keep them abreast of recent trends in the sector, in line with international best practices.

She said, “The major reason for this project is our commitment to the development of human resources in the education sector. No nation can become greater than its teachers. If you look round the world, some of the most developed countries invested heavily in the education sector and they try to synchronise the academia and the industry. Nigeria must toe this path.

“Also, it is clear that when teachers are well-equipped with up-to-date knowledge on methods, models, metrics and modern tools of their art, their delivery in the classroom will improve; their relationship with students will improve and we will record more positive learning outcomes. Then teachers will share relevant knowledge and functional education that goes beyond rote learning.”

The conference scheduled for Thursday June 1, and Friday 2, 2017, Ogunde added would also feature technological education and expose participants to trendy issues that emerged in the Information and Communications Technology sector.

Ogunde further stated that over 100 credible exhibitors of innovative educational products would be on ground. “These are organisations that have simplified solutions and processes for the sector and packaged them into products. This year’s TOSSE will mark a phenomenal turn for good in Nigeria’s education space,” she added.
