Akande CopySIFAX Group, one of Africa’s fastest growing multinational corporations, with diverse interests in maritime, aviation, haulage & logistics, oil & gas and hospitality, has thrown its weight behind The Next Titans reality TV show, which was recently premiered in Lagos. According to the organization, the need to encourage entrepreneurship and provide opportunities for aspiring young Nigerians to become business owners rather than job seekers, informed their decision to back the TV show.

Speaking at the premiere of the show in Lagos, the Executive Vice Chairman of the company, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, said the legion of unemployed young persons in Nigeria should be a cause of worry for all well-meaning Nigerians.

Afolabi, who was represented by the Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Olumuyiwa Akande, noted that many of the young persons have brilliant business ideas that could be nurtured to greatness if they are encouraged.

“This is the major reason the SIFAX Group has put its support behind this laudable initiative. There must be creditable platforms across the length and breadth of this country to discover, nurture and fund creative business ideas especially by the youths.

“Such efforts would go a long way in addressing the challenge of youth unemployment, aside the fact that it has the potential of contributing meaningfully to the country’s economy.”

He noted that, “At SIFAX Group, we identify opportunities like The Next Titan and provide the required sponsorship because of our corporate philosophy which hinges on positively affecting the society,” he said.

Afolabi further urged other corporate organizations and wealthy individuals to support The Next Titan and other related platforms.”

At the premiere, sixteen contestants emerged from the pool of fifty, who were selected from the nationwide auditions. The successful contestants would proceed to the commune, where they would undertake different business-related tasks under the guidance and scrutiny of business gurus like Tonye Cole, Chris Parkes, Abba Kyari Bukar and Lilian Olubi.

The show will be aired on selected TV stations for 13 weeks while the winner will win N5 million and Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).
