School urges graduating students to embrace vocational jobs
Principal, Anglican Grammar School Ozoro, Delta State, Mrs Felicia Eto has urged graduating students of the school to earn a living with a vocation of their choice and be self reliant in other to assist their parents in shouldering financial responsibilities.
Eto who made the plea at the third graduation and price giving ceremony of the school said the vocational skills acquired by the students in the course of their study should be put to good use.
The principal disclosed that the students, using the various skills acquired made desks, dresses, cake, beads, tie and die as well as soaps, saying the knowledge should not be left to rot.
According to her, the students would be able to assist their parents financially in the course of their university education, while those who may not be opportuned to proceed for further studies can leverage on the skills acquired.
She said, “This is our third graduation ceremony since the school was returned to Anglican Communion Diocese of Oleh in 2011. The school has metamorphosed from initial population of four to 320 students and from a staff of three to 34 teachers.
She added that the school has maintained a high standard in academics and discipline, which has imparted on the school’s results in the last three years. Parents and friends of the school witnessed the ceremony, which featured presentation of prizes to best students in some subjects.
