Provost charges new students to shun violence, misconduct
The provost, Federal College of Education [Technical] Akoka, Lagos Dr Ademola Azeez has advised the newly admitted students to combine both academic and moral excellence during years of studentship in the college
Azeez warned the students to desist from any form of examination misconduct, admission fraud, certificate forgery, cultism, fighting, theft, extortion, rape and illicit drug dealings among others.
The provost while administering oath on the new students enjoined them to attend lectures regularly and punctually, as their success will be measured by the result of their academic work.
Besides, he encouraged them to engage in sporting activities and join for leisure and good mental development rather than engaging in secret society, unregistered clubs and hooliganism so that their goals and expectation will not be cut short.
‘’I appeal to you to reciprocate the good gesture of the college by working diligently in order to contribute your quota to the development of our country. This is an academic environment with its unique norms and values, you are expected to familiarise yourselves with them’’ he added.
Affirming the provost speech, the student union president, Odekilekun Mubarak Adedeji said ‘’ Students are to build themselves not only in academic aspect but also in character that is guided by rules and regulations of the college and also shun all vices and immoral act.
He further added that the new students should foster unity and cordial relationship among themselves, devoid from all forms of oppression and intimidation.
