Parakuo varsity students visit FUTA

Students from the University of Parakou, Benin Republic, have paid a visit to the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State.

The students who were in FUTA on a study tour, as part of their ongoing exchange programmme at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, described the institution as a citadel of excellence just as the praised the quality of facilities it plays host to.

Vice Chancellor of FUTA, Professor Adebiyi Daramola represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor, (Academics), Professor Tunde Arayela, expressed optimism that the students’ visit would open a new vista for them and enrich their knowledge of the West African sub-region. 

He said the visit was the beginning of a good relationship between the two institutions.

In his remarks, Director, Advancement Centre, Professor Bayo Aborisade, described FUTA as the most advanced university of technology in the sub-region, adding that the institution would welcome students from the Beninoise varsity who wished to further their education in FUTA.

Responding, the leader of the contingent and Head, Foreign Languages Department, Obafemi Awolowo University, Dr. Ayo Felix Omidire, said they were impressed with the state of art infrastructure on the campus.
