THE Nasrul – Lahi – Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) has underscored the need for Muslims to be security conscious. The National Security Secretary of the society, Abdulwaheed Adedamola, during the 2015 Zonal Commanders Seminal last weekend in Alausa Ikeja, Lagos, urged Muslims Ummah to be security conscious at all times and always mentor their siblings to do same.

According to him, NASFAT is always stepping ahead to render security services among members and their property, adding that the seminal was part of its security strategies to educate all the zonal commanders about the modern tactics to apply whenever there is a breach of security.

He said that, “security is part of Islam and being a religion of peace, it encourages us to value lives, properties within one another irrespective of religious differences,” even Allah (SWT) appoints leaders by his grace, on earth as His vicegerents who are enjoined by to ensure good welfare and security of subjects under their leadership.

He commended the Nigeria police and other security agents in the country for vital role in maintaining law and order as well as enhancing security of lives and property of Nigerians

However, DCP Lawan Ado, in his lecture, described security as everybody business, which every Nigerian must be concerned and engaged in the fight against terrorism and asymmetric threats, through extra vigilance and reporting of suspected movement.

Ado explained further that security is an integral part of human life and it is viewed as complete freedom of every segment of human society, also the current upsurge of security threats in the world particularly in the Islamic countries is very worrisome and it requires the concerted effort of all Muslims and Islamic organizations to curtail it.

He stressed that most security threats are mainly through insurgencies, terrorist attacks and suicide bombing, which is currently going on in some part of the world like Syria, Egypt, Libya while Nigeria is also battling with Boko Haram insurgent.

Ado charged NASFAT, as a Muslim organization, to employ all the strategic measures to ensure that security agents under them possess adequate qualities in term of submissive to Allah and His rules.

He urged the NASFAT security committee to uphold information and ensure that it acquires new and modern technical device that could enhance its provision of security in the mosques, schools and public gathering in order to pro-actively avert any untoward incident.

He stated further that, security of lives and properties should be a major concern of everybody, stressing the need to contribute resources to physical security.

This according to him, include purchase of all technical devices that could proactively prevent the occurrence of such asymmetric attacks, such as metal detectors, scanners and CCTV cameras in all public places like mosques and all places of worship.
