Nasrul-Lahi-Faith Society (NASFAT) Zone Two has called on every Muslim to participate in the ongoing fund raising of N2.5 billion to build an Islamic center with facilities for daily prayers, Juma’at and Eid prayers and other enlightenment programmes.

The Zonal Chairman, NASFAT Lagos Zone Two, Dr. Rafiu Adebgola during the Mega Asalatu organized to raise fund for the development of the center sought the support of the members in contributing generously to the laudable project.

He said the mega asalatu (prayer session) is a strategy put in place to raise the sum of N2.5 billion for the development of NASFAT Islamic centre at Aseese. “This is not the first time our zone is raising funds to support the laudable project,” he said.

Adegbola noted that, the project does not only belong to NASFAT as a society but a legacy to Muslims in Nigeria and beyond.

He appealed to all endowed Muslims to support the project. “I seek for your kind support to donate towards the project as we have set a minimum target of N25 million to be raised through our Zone,” he said.

NASFAT Zone Two Women Secretary, Hajia Mulikat Aroloye also encouraged Muslim women not to be left out in the charitable and ceaseless rewarding venture. She urged Muslim women to also participate in politics, saying “the higher the participation of Muslim women the healthier the nation becomes.

“Though our culture dedicates the duties of rearing the children and caring for the home to women, but being in politics does not impede the discharge of this primary role,” she said

To Engr. Kamal Olaoye who represents the zone in the national mosque development project committee, the Islamic center is not just a mosque but also a citadel of learning with various infrastructures to empower Muslims spiritually and temporally.

He reiterated the need for the zone to mobilise funds for the project. “Zone two is planning to raise minimum of N2.5 million to support the project while other zones are also making judicious efforts to raise the required money for the completion of the project.

“We are reaching out to the entire Muslim Ummah to come and support the viable project. The mosque would be the second milestone achievable by NASFAT as an organization after the establishment of Fountain University”, he said.

He offered words of admonition to Muslim youths and tasked them participate in politics so that Muslims can have meaningful impact on the political process in the country.

“ NASFAT is not a partisan society but a pacesetter organization but our members, most especially, the youths are encouraged to participate in all aspects of life including politics.”

The Chairman of National Council of Elders, Alhaji Yunus Olalekan Saliu commended efforts of donors towards the project.

“We believe we must reach out to all our members because we want an all-inclusive participation. We want both the rich and the poor to participate in the project”, he said.

The organization’s exponential growth, according to him, mandated the building of a befitting mosque complex and an Islamic center, which will serve as a hub for propagation.

The Guest Lecturer, Imam Abdur Raheem Aliu Adebayo said the call to partake in the building of a mosque should be seen as obtaining a ticket for Aljanah. “Apart from the ultimate reward, the building of a mosque in a way affords a person to continue to earn the blessings of Allah even after death,” he said.
