Spurred by the need for divine intervention in the nation’s polity, the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has offered special and fervent prayers for President Muhammadu Buhari, his government and the entire nation.

The special prayer session attracted members of the executive organ of the body representing the Muslim communities/councils of the six states of the South West, the major Muslim organisations domiciled in the region including Muslim women and youth organisations.

The group expressed gratitude to Allah for responding to the prayers of Nigerians by bringing back the President with improved health. They noted with great hope that such fervent thanksgiving will attract even more of Allah’s mercies to the President and the nation, as Allah has assured believers that their gratitude to Him will bring more of His favours.

They expressed profound faith in the fact that the span of life of a person is not determined by the wishes or claims of detractors but by Allah’s decree. So, they urged the President and the nation to put trust fully in Allah and ignore the whispers of rumour mongers.

The religious leaders also thanked Allah for giving the country and our armed forces victory over the Boko Haram menace and beseeched Him to complete the victory not only over the misguided insurgents but also over all other forms of threat to the security, unity and progress of the nation, praying that the remaining Chibok girls be brought back safely.

They further urged citizens who have faith in Allah to continue their fervent prayer for the President and the whole nation with unshaken faith that He will continue to grant our requests.

The group however urged all citizens to cultivate and maintain the consciousness of eventual accountability before Allah, Who shall recompense everyone in the hereafter for everything, good or evil, little or great, that they do in the life of this world.

Essentially, they joined the President in commending the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, for holding the forth for him so diligently over the period of the President’s absence.
