MIC, PEMCA hold Ramadan lectures, offers free medical screening

A religious organisation, Misbaudeen Islamic Centre, MIC, is set to hold its sixth edition of its yearly Ramadan lecture on Sunday 13th May, 2018 at Jubril Martins Memorial High School, Iloro-Agege, Lagos.

The sixth Ramadan lecture scheduled to start by 9am under the chairmanship of Prof. Yisa Yusuf of Obafemi Awolowo University promises to be quite educative and enlightening.

According to the Chief Host and Managing Director, Silver Feeds, Alhaji Musbaudeen Bolarinwa, the free medical screening would come up on Sunday 6th May, 2018 as part of the event in preparation for Ramadan.

The Director, Muslim Right Concern, (MURIC), Prof. Ishaq Akintola will deliver lecture on “Parenting in the 21st Century: Challenges Before Muslims” while Ustaz Ishaq Ayandiran will speak on importance and benefits of Ramadan.

Associate Professor at American University, Luqmon AbdulRaheem, is expected to deliver another lecture titled; “Islamic Propagation: All Muslims as Stakeholders”.

MIC’s Imam, AbdulLateef Qamarudeen urged Muslims to take advantage of the lecture to prepare themselves spiritually, emotionally, physically and healthwise for the coming Ramadan.

Alhaji Bolarinwa said the theme has been carefully chosen in view of the developments and challenges in our society.

The keynote address will be delivered by the Chairman of Lagos Muslims Welfare Board, Dr. Tajudeen Yusuf.

Meanwhile, Peace Estate Central Mosque (PEMCA) is set to hold a Pre-Ramadan lecture to remind and guide Muslims on the significance of the holy month.

The public lecture is scheduled to hold on May 6th at the PEMCA mosque located on second avenue, Peace Estate, Ipaja, Lagos by 10am prompt.

Secretary, PEMCA, Shamsideen Olasanya, in a statement to The Guardian said the lecture would cover three topics to be taken by different lecturers.

The first topic is titled: “A Sound Heart” to be delivered by the Mufasir, Abesan Estate Central Mosque, Ustaz Kamil Najimdeen; Second topic will be, “My Perfect Ramadan” to be taken by Ustaz Abdul Ganiy Bello, while Alhaji Dr. Zhulfa Ibrahim will speak on “Ramadan and my Health”.

Chief Imam, PEMCA, Dr. Luqman Adedeji, said the topics would prepare minds towards the requirements at ensuring that Muslims have a perfect and acceptable Ramadan experience during the glorious month in line with the dictates of the Quran and the sunnah of noble prophet Mahammed (SAW).
