There is something definitely for everyone in this uniquely packaged Yoruba language radio drama, Alarambara but the drama series is designed for audiences, where Sunlight has some of its strongest demographics – Nigeria’s South- western states comprising Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti.

Already something of a ratings sensation, Alarambara is ostensibly about a circle of five, fun female friends – attractive, young women, who daily navigate the territories of matrimony, motherhood and trading. There is Anike and Bisi, Iya Alaje and Iyawo as well as lead character, Sisi Oge, who serves as the group’s – and our – voice of reason. And perhaps to give her more heft, she is played by none other than the famed Nollywood star actress, Mosun Filani.

So, is there more to Alarambara than meets the ears? Definitely. The well -loved radio drama does not only deliver on the entertainment value but also has informative and educative offerings. Alarambara provides a platform for Sunlight to enrich the life of the listener with subtly woven tips and advices on everything, from managing the home and family, to dealing with relationship issues and business matters. There are also great tips on cleaning the home and doing the laundry, the Sunlight-style.

The programme runs as 5-minute episodes each week for 13 weeks, offering the listener an interactive phone-in session after each episode and more important, an opportunity to win prizes. Radio listeners can check for local listings at www.facebook/SunlightNigeria

Alarambara is already running on select radio stations across the Southwest.
