Logophile Spelling Bee Competition recently hosted pupils from 10 schools at City Club, Surulere, Lagos. Audience members were thrilled as pupils rack their brains to produce results during the competition; it had the sponsorship of Sterling Bank, Purple Money, Little Weavers, Horlicks, event plus ventures among others.

Director of Kids Court School, Dr. (Mrs.) Abimbola Ogundere who is also the director of Logophile Spelling Bee explained that Logophile means ‘Word lover.’ Relating this to the children, she said, “Modern day children are more familiar with technological growth than words. So, it is important to resurrect love for words through reading as all aspects of life are related to words”.

She promised to take the competition national by doing it once in three months in different parts of Lagos with collaborating schools.
