There was jubilation at Surulere Local Government Public Health Centre as children, pupils, parents, teachers and care –givers received free medical treatment, talks, meals and a lot more during the celebration of children‘s day party.

The event took place at the Public Health Centre with the presence of Down Syndrome Foundation, Yaba Motherless Babies Home, Sought after Orphanage, Ajah, Primary schools and other Lagosians.

The celebration was organized by the Lions Clubs International DIistrict404 A1, with a theme “Our Children, Our Heritage.”

It was one of the projects to carter for the children and community service through health needs and education.

Director General of the club, Mr. Olaitan Onolaja, while addressing the children said: “We are using the Children’s day party to celebrate the Children, show love and carter for them. Most children all over the world suffer neglect. Many parents in Nigeria are guilty of this because they are so engrossed in their daily activities to make ends meet.”

He disclosed that in the past, the Club has assisted children and parents in war-ravaged zones, those who have suffered from natural disasters, environmental challenges globally with help of the UNICEF and donors to recover quickly from their plights.”

The Children were excited with the gifts they got from clubs and from reading and dancing competition.
