court.jpg-citynewsLagos State Chairman of Nigerian Legion, Colonel Samuel Fola Akande (rtd), has filed a suit to ‎stop Defence Ministry officials and others from interferring in his tenure as the leader of the organisation in state.

The plaintiff in a suit delineated as FHC/L/CS/1037/15, is seeking an injunction to restrain Nigerian Legion Lagos from conducting another election for the post of state chairman.

Other respondents in the suit includes: Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Rogers, an Assistant Director, Ministry of Defence, Joint Services Department, Dr. Alozie Jude of same department and Colonel Samuel Ogunyebo who contested the Chairmanship election with him.

The plaintiff in his motion on notice filed by his counsel, Ola Shobowale, is praying the court for “interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants by themselves, their servants, their privies, agents or anybody claiming authority from them from preventing the plaintiff from enjoying his tenure as State Chairman, Nigerian Lagos State or organising and/or conducting another election for the post of State Chairman of Lagos State during the said lawful tenure of the plaintiff or howsoever taking any step that adversely affects or prevents the plaintiff from holding the office of the State Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Lagos State pending the final determination of the suit. ”
