Lawyer demands accountability from lawmakers
Rights activist and Lagos lawyer, Mr. Osita Enwe has given a seven day deadline to Igboeze North/Udenu Federal constituency and Enugu North senatorial district to give a detailed account of the actual rent of their constituency and district offices from June 2007 to December 31, 2019.
He want specific information on the salaries disbursed to each of the honourable representatives and distinguished senators. They lawmakers are, Lawrence Ugwuanyi, Dennis Agbo, Simon Atigwe, Senator Ayogu Eze and Senator Godfrey Utazi.
He requests that the information provided should include rent paid for each office space, description of the office space, numbers of staff, operation cost and ancillary expenses such as utility bills and all receipts each of the honourable representatives and distinguished senators submitted to the National Assembly, adding that all should be in a tabular format.
He noted that the application is predicated on the enabling provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2011 (FOI Act).
