Sound judgement, in my opinion. One wonders how govt. officials reason. A State Agency borrowed depositors’ money from a bank, defaults for years and expect not to pay back, probably because a different administration borrowed the money years ago? Does the bank not have obligations to its depositors, if not to its shareholders? This looks like a clear cut case and applying for a stay of execution while appealing the case seems like a delaying tactic. So the bank bank should be in the appeal court for another four or five years, if not more? The judiciary has a big role to play if this country is to make any progress. The way litigants that have almost indefensible cases and take advantage of our weak judicial system makes nonsense of genuine people and institutions doing business in this country.
