Kaduna to establish agric e-library

Kaduna State Government is set to establish an e-library and data bank, to strengthen the capacity of its Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, in areas of coordination, planning and budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, among others.

Kaduna State Government is set to establish an e-library and data bank, to strengthen the capacity of its Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, in areas of coordination, planning and budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, among others.

Project Manager in charge of Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), from the ministry, Mr. Yakubu Gora made the disclosure while receiving ICT equipment, such as Laptops, Printers, computers, and Photocopiers, worth over N2.1m from Synergos organisation.

Other ICT equipments received by the ministry are projectors, screens, and routers. 

Synergos had earlier agreed to collaborate with the state government in building the capacity of farmers for a period of two years.

While receiving the gadgets, Gora said the equipment would also be used to monitor the performance of departments in the ministry in terms of data collection and other daily activities. 

“We will like to see a change in the mindset and attitude of the staff towards office work and delivering effectively. The purpose of the project is to fill the gaps identified in areas of planning and budgeting, monitoring, evaluation coordination.

In his remarks, a technical assistant on coordination for Synergos on Agra project, Muhammad Musa Sheriff said the equipment would enable “increased food security for smallholder farmers, as well as an improved source of income for them. 

“We also aimed to see the enhanced program, system delivery and effective coordination in the ministry.”
