IPAN commits to enhance quality health care delivery

In accordance with the statutory role in regulating the practice of Public Analysts, and in compliance with the World Health Assembly (WHA) resolution of 1995, which called for mandatory continuing education of professionals in the health sector, Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (IPAN), has organized a two-day training as a way of enhancing quality health care delivery.

The Institute, which has been organizing mandatory training workshops on a biannual basis to meet regulatory requirement for the renewal of annual Practice License which demands that every Public Analyst should attend at least one of the two workshops in a year, has again organized its last training workshop for the year.

The event which had ‘Quality Management Systems for Laboratories’ as its theme, took place recently at Airport Hotel, Ikeja Lagos, and was graced with dignitaries such as the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) as Special Guest of Honour; the National President, Association of Medical laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) as Guest of Honour; the President of IPAN as Chief Host; the Registrar and Chief Executive of IPAN as Host; Fellows and eminent members of the Institute; members of the Committee of Registrars of Health Professions(CRHP); and members of Association Professional Bodies of Nigeria(APBN), among others.

Speaking at the event, the President of IPAN, Dr. Dahiru Adamu, who welcomed the participants, said the theme and topics of this year training workshop was very crucial as it complies with ISO 17025 and 15189; “ Specifically, 15189 is very essential in laboratory and medical practice, whereas 17025 is a general one which applies to laboratories and medical practice generally.

The President commended the committee for choosing such a topic and making it a reality to benefit Nigerians and humanity as a whole: “Long live IPAN and long live The Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
