Insurer bonds with customers tackle major issues

In a bid to further increase customer-management relationship, FBNInsurance Limited recently hosted her Customers in a virtual Customer Forum, which was the sixth in the series to have been held by the firm.

The Forum, which is aimed at keeping Customers abreast of topical issues within the company as well as addressing issues/questions/complaints they may have was well attended by the esteemed customers and Executive members of the company.

At the forum, the Managing Director, FBNInsurance Limited, Val Ojumah reiterated the purpose of the Forum which he said is one of the company’s key strategic initiative to meet customers to get their feedback on the services of the company and work towards achieving excellent service delivery to the customer.

In addition, he appreciated the customers for creating time to attend the Forum and assured them that all their requests would be treated promptly.

While responding to questions from the customers, Mr. Ojumah informed them about the divestment of the 65% stake previously held by FBNHoldings which has made FBNInsurance and its subsidiary FBN General Insurance a wholly-owned company of the Sanlam Group. He disclosed key initiatives the company is undertaking to ensure seamless service delivery. In his words, “With over a hundred years in wealth creation, Sanlam as a financial services group, has businesses that cut across 42 countries globally and we are glad to be a member of this Group. We also want you to know that we are proud of our association with FirstBank and we are delighted FBNInsurance tremendously added value to the bank. Our membership of the Sanlam Group has further strengthened our company as we are better enabled and poised to serve you.”

Ojumah further added that FBNInsurance, being an innovative company collaborated with a UK based company, Collinson, to develop a unique and affordable international healthcare product called SmartHealth International Plan. He stated that the newly launched product is tailored to cater to critical medical conditions that cannot be adequately cared for in Nigeria. He urged the customers to key into the healthcare product and enjoy the benefits that come with it.

Incorporated ten years ago, FBNInsurance is widely acknowledged as the fastest-growing life insurance company in Nigeria with presence in strategic geographical locations across the country. The company is a member of the Sanlam Group, a leading pan-African financial service group.

Underwriter donates to less-privileged
FBNInsurance Limited has donated various items to homes and hospice in Lagos and Port Harcourt. In a statement, the company said it visited children at the Heritage Homes Orphanage (Lagos) and Rhema Orphanage Home (Port Harcourt). Items such as food, beverages, toiletries, clothes as well as cash were donated to the children of the orphanage homes.

The firm said it made a similar donation to the Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria, Lagos. Most of the items donated to the homes and hospice were largely raised through the company’s annual Staff Gift Drive, an in-house initiative that encourages staff to donate various items for a common cause.

The FBN Insurance Staff Gift Drive, which was incepted in 2015, is in its sixth FBN Insurance donates ambulance to Lagos government while appreciating the goodwill of the insurer, the Assistant General Manager, Heritage Homes Orphanage, Mr. Reuben Amara, said: “On behalf of the Board, Management, and the entire members of the Heritage Homes The orphanage, we express our deepest appreciation to the Board, Management, and the entire staff of FBN Insurance Limited for their kind donation towards the upkeep of the children in the Home.

“We pray that the Almighty God will reward your labour of love, especially at this difficult time of the global COVID-19 pandemic.” The National President of the Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria, Mrs. Rose Mordi, also expressed the Foundation’s appreciation for the insurer’s donation. In her statement, she said:

“We are grateful for your support, concern, love, and for the interest shown to our mission. “We thank you from the depth of our hearts and pray that FBN Insurance continues to grow from strength to strength.”
