According to him, “SIWES is a Federal government programme which aims at synchronizing the theoretical training received by students in their respective institutions with the practical experience of working in real life situation. It is aimed at adding value to the training of students with the ultimate goal of producing competent manpower to drive the economy.” Professor Daramola also called on the students to create good impressions of themselves, their families and the university by being of good moral conduct.

“Character is germane to ones future. Therefore ensure you behave well. Handle your On assigned duties with the fear of God and be good ambassadors of your families and this great university. We have testimonies in the past of organisations recruiting our products because of their comportment during their industrial training. Some still wish to take more from FUTA. I enjoin you to vigorously pursue knowledge and skills that will place you ahead of others.”
