Pastor-Chris-OyakhilomeTHE management of Benson Idahosa University (BIU), Benin City, Edo State yesterday said it would honour the President and Founder of Believer’s Love World Ministry (aka Christ Embassy), Pastor Chris Oyakhilome with a Doctor of Divinity.

The institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ernest Izevbigie, at a press conference yesterday in Benin City, said the cleric was being honoured for his achievement and numerous contributions to the growth and development of humanity as well as in propagating the gospel of Christ globally.

He said as a student evangelist, Oyakhilome worked with the revered late Archbishop Benson Idahosa where he cut his teeth.

“Pastor Chris attended the prestigious Edo College, Benin city. While there, he nurtured his Christian faith and became the president of the Christian students’ union. While on holiday, he worked with the Church of God Mission (CGM) and had the opportunity to work with the remarkably Archbishop Benson Idahosa.

“It was during his time at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma that the ministry known all over the world today as Christ Embassy (aka Believers Love World Ministry) was founded by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. This church flourished into several other Christ Embassy churches in the state, nation and the globe,” Izevbigie said.
