In support of the current global COVID-19 pandemic, Nigeria’s JE Technical Services Ltd has been appointed the sole legal trade representative of BioMedomics Inc COVID-19 IgG/IgM Rapid test kit in Nigeria. JE Technical Services Ltd, a subsidiary of Jean Edwards Consulting UK, is an organisation with the mandate to enhance socio-economic development in Nigeria via strategic Consultancy and Technology.

BioMedomics is an ISO 13485 diagnostic manufacturing/development company located in North Carolina USA making cutting-edge diagnostic technologies globally accessible and affordable. BioMedomics researchers combine biology, biochemistry, and biomedical engineering to merge advanced technologies with novel point-of-care diagnostic platforms.

BioMedomics is supporting over 30 countries globally including, but not limited to the USA, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia to battle the global COVID-19 pandemic and are diligently working with JE Technical Services Ltd to ensure the availability of COVID-19 Rapid IgM-IgG Combined Antibody test for Coronavirus in Nigeria and across Africa.

The collaboration between JE Technical Services Nigeria and BioMedomics exists for one very important reason: to make this state-of-the-art, validated diagnostic kit available to support, facilitate and transform COVID-19 testing capabilities in Nigeria.

Mr. Edward Nnadi, CEO and Managing Director, JE Technical Services stated “This partnership is critical given the quality and accuracy of the BioMedomics IgM-IgG Combined Antibody Rapid Test. Being one of the world’s first rapid point-of-care lateral flow immunoassays to aid in the diagnosis of coronavirus, I am proud to be part of the solution for Nigeria and Africa as a whole.”

The BioMedomics IgM-IgG Combined Antibody Rapid Test is one of the world’s first rapid point-of-care lateral flow immunoassays to aid in the diagnosis of coronavirus. The test has been used widely by the Chinese CDC to combat COVID-19 infections and is now being made available globally. The qualitative test detects both IgG and IgM antibodies of the novel coronavirus in human serum, plasma,or whole blood in vitro. This test detects both early marker and late marker, IgG/IgM antibodies, in human finger-prick or venous blood samples. It can be used for rapid screening of carriers of the virus that are symptomatic or asymptomatic. Recent studies suggest that a high percentage of patients show no clinical symptoms of the virus, thus screening patients is vitally important.

According to Mr Ade Adebisi, British-Nigerian Brand Ambassador for BioMedomics in Africa, “the situation calls for a simple COVID-19 test which provides accurate and fast results within 15 minutes, requiring no cold chain logistics, electrical equipment or specialised training.”

Brad Heidinger Chief Operating Officer (COO) BioMedomics Inc cites that “the test is ideally suited for hospitals, clinics and test laboratories, giving it the potential to become a compelling force in the fight against this global threat.”

JE Technical Services Ltd is in the process of validating as well as registering the BioMedomics Rapid Rest Kit to enable importation and ensure availability in Nigeria in support of the battle against the global pandemic.
