ICSBS holds symposium on improving breast cancer management, outcomes in Enugu

The International Centre for the Study of Breast Cancer Subtypes (ICSBCS) is set to hold its 3rd Annual International Symposium on “Improving Breast Cancer Management and Outcomes in Africa” on August 21-22, 2019, in Enugu.

The International Centre for the Study of Breast Cancer Subtypes (ICSBCS) is set to hold its 3rd Annual International Symposium on “Improving Breast Cancer Management and Outcomes in Africa” on August 21-22, 2019, in Enugu.

The symposium is organised by Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) in collaboration with the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Enugu.

One of the organisers and a consultant radiologist, Prof. Ifeoma Okoye, said: “We aim to achieve this goal through robust multidisciplinary discussion, as well as through enhanced collaboration between the oncology professionals that are affiliated with the ICSBCS network.

“ICSBCS mission is to reduce the global breast cancer burden through advances in research and delivery of care to diverse populations worldwide. Through research programs like our ‘International Breast Registry,’ the ICSBCS improves insights regarding the biology of breast cancer in diverse populations. Through educational projects such as our immunohistochemistry training programme and through clinical efforts such as telemedicine tumor board conferences, the

We are truly grateful for the dedication and devotion that our colleagues at UNTH at Enugu, Nigeria have provided to bring this dynamic symposium to fruition. We would like to thank the leadership of Weill Cornell Medicine, specifically Dr. Fabrizio Michelassi, Chair of Department of Surgery, and Surgeon-in-Chief and Dr. Obinna O. Onodugo, Chief Medical Director, for supporting this important international symposium and allowing us to coordinate its ambitious program content.”
