Group donates libraries to rural schools in Edo

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Global Care Foundation International (GCFI) has donated libraries to three rural schools in Edo State.

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Global Care Foundation International (GCFI) has donated libraries to three rural schools in Edo State.

The benefitting schools included Ubiaja Central Primary School, Ubiaja, Ologwa Primary School, Ohordua, and Okaigben Secondary School, Ewohimi, all in Esan South East Local Government Area of the State.

The libraries were fully stocked with textbooks and formally handed over to the beneficiaries.

President of the foundation, Mr. Christopher Obhere said the donations were geared towards assisting less-privileged students whose parents may not be able to afford necessary textbooks.

He added that the gesture was consistent with the motto of the foundation, which was established to render help to those in need.

A community leader in Ewohimi, Solomon Aguile who was at Okaigben Secondary school praised the NGO and encouraged them to sustain the efforts.

He urged the students to take full advantage of the library to enhance their studies, stressing that education remained the ladder to the top.

Among the Global Care Foundation team were Rev. Ben Akhimien, Mr. Jude Agbakhamon, Mr. Alex Oriere, Mr. Fetus Omon and Mr. Kenneth Ogbomon.

Various heads of benefiting schools, their students and community leaders in their speeches poured encomiums on the foundation, praying God to reward them.
