Administrative Officers and Secretaries in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Region 1 were empowered for better service at the just concluded 2015 Annual Conference organised for them with the theme: “Delivering value in a constrained work environment.”

The programme took place at the RCCG, Throne of Grace, Region 1, Ebute-Metta, Lagos. In a welcome address delivered by the Regional Administrator, Pastor Seun Adebayo, the Pastor in charge of Region 1 and the Special Assistant to the General Overseer, RCCG, (Admin & Personnel), Pastor Johnson Odesola reminded the participants and other Christian workers in general of the need to develop themselves with a view to facing challenges that are inevitable in the modern world.

He advised them to believe in themselves that they have the potentials to be what they are destined to be and should therefore jettison any negative feelings. He told the participants to put into practice whatever they were taught at the programme and avoid distractions.

The Deputy Director, Admin & Personnel, RCCG, Pastor Olurotimi Adegborioye, said that for anyone to cope with the requirement of today’s administration and ministry, competence couldn’t be undermined.

You must be competent, reliable, dependable and be ready to work. Perseverance is the key in this ministry as so many things would want to frustrate you, but you need to persevere,” he told the participants.

He said the essence of the training was to sharpen the participants’ brain and let them know the expectations of the Church from them. One of the resource persons, Pastor Bisi Akande, advanced the importance of today’s administrators adapting themselves to all areas of technology. “The world has become a global village and we cannot afford to under perform because of the environment,” he said.

At the end of the event, seven distinguished leaders were given meritorious awards amongst whom were the Pastor in Charge of Region 1 and Special Assistant to the General Overseer, Admin. & Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola, (he got leadership award), deputy director, admin & personnel, RCCG, Pastor Olurotimi Adegborioye, Pastor Akin John, Pastor Bisi Akande, among others (all got award of excellence).
